Life hacks
Making life easier every day
Tie one on – To identify bags, luggage and other items, put a ribbon on it. You can use brightly coloured pieces of fabric as well.
Fresh and clean – keep drawers, garbage bins and laundry baskets smelling nicer by putting scented bars of soap inside.
Bruise relief – ice packs made from a kitchen sponge in plastic bags tend to make less mess when they melt. Keep a couple in the freezer… just in case.
Friendly fridges – because its hard to reach the back of the fridge, try putting items further forward. A couple of small lazy susan turntables might work as well too.
Corner savers – the edges of dining and coffee tables, dishwashers and nightstand have sharp corners. Find a way to cover them so they won’t cause injury.
Button up – for those with common eye conditions, putting raised dot or bright stickers on the phone buttons, TV and HVAC remotes will help. On/off is the most commonly used.
Clip and tape – it can be frustrating when straws move around the glass. A simple clip or a piece of tape that hold the straw to the glass makes drinking easier.
Key control – Painting both sides of the key head with brightly coloured, durable, nail polish.
Go vertical – fold and stack sideways in drawers so you can see them more easily.
